Cara nak buat pes cili bihun sup

Someone posted this on CARI a few years ago, this recipe is what I always use for making my pes chilli to go with my bihun sup utara, very simple..

Cabai serbuk (chilli powder)
Cuka( white vinegar)
Gula (sugar)
Garam (salt)


Combine all the above with some water, cook slowly on the stove untill you get the right consistency and taste, just add more/less of the ingredients according to your tastebuds :)

OK, found this recipe online, It's by Puan Puti Mazura.

I like the way it turned out. Nice I think, but I can't say whether it tasted anything like the original ever so famous Mee bandung Muar, never even been to Johor LOL. This will do for now..

1 kg mee kuning
10 tangkai cili kering (buang biji dan rebus, toskan)
1 labu bawang putih (diketuk)
5 biji bawang merah
½ cawan udang kering, direbus dengan Secawan air (alternatively boleh guna sotong rendam, rebus juga, ini style Mee Bandung Tanjung Agas, Muar)
½ cawan udang hidup
1 cawan daging rebus (dipotong nipis)
Sawi (sukatan ikut suka, potong anggaran 1 inci)
Kobis (sukatan ikut suka, hiris kasar)
¾ - 1 cawan gula pasir
3 - 4 cawan air rebusan daging
1 sudu makan sos tiram Telur ayam (mengikut jumlah hidangan)
Garam secukup rasa
Minyak untuk menumis
Lain lain perencah e.g. daging ayam, fishballs, sotong, bunga kobis, hati rebus boleh dimasukkan mengikut individual preference.
Daun sadri & daun bawang, jika suka (dihiris)

Blend cili kering, udang kering & air rebusannya, gula, bawang putih & bawang merah.
Pijarkan minyak dalam kuali
Tumiskan bahan bahan yang dikisar. Jangan sampai garing
Masukkan sos tiram
Masukkan udang, daging rebus
Masukkan batang sawi dan air rebusan daging dan garam. Biar sehingga pekat


Untuk menghidang (Mee bandung ni tak sedap masak in bulk, so kenalah "bancuh" sepinggan-sepinggan.)
Ambil sedikit kuah (dan rencahnya untuk satu orang makan)
Panaskan dan masukkan sebiji telur, sehingga separuh keras.
Masukkan sayur dan bila agak lembut, masukkan mee kuning untuk satu orang makan Masukkan kedalam mangkuk leper, telur diatas, taburkan daun sup & daun bawang, jika suka.

Mee bandung asli tidak mengandungi apa apa yang rasa masam, so, janganlah masukkan tomato puri/tomato sos/cili sos/asam jawa. Ini akan merosakkan keaslian rasanya. Ramai orang yang pandai-pandai modify mee bandung Muar ni by adding sour ingredients. Itu yang spoil tu

I love cooking and trying lots of different recipes esp when I took a year off to look after my son. My main problem is, I got my recipe from all over the place, mum, friends, internet, books and never actually copied them..each time I need the recipe, I spent ages looking for the same recipe all over again. Mainly online, so not only I need to remember where I got it from, but whose recipe etc etc..It annoys me no end

So hopefully by compiling it here, I won't loose them anymore and they should be easier to find ehhh?? We'll see.

I'm a bit busy at work though, so not sure if I'll keep this blog running but we shall see..
